Dania Lu

Through the Looking Glass

Dania Lu studied at the Ural State Mining University as well as the China University of Geosciences, laying the foundation to establishing herself as an up-and-coming jewelry designer. Her work is deeply influenced by painter Edward Hopper, especially by one of his most famous work, Nighthawks.

“And by the time you truly understand a painting, you might find yourself already in the theatre.”

Lu believes that we have a tendency to picture ourselves in fairytales. For her, this is one of the main sources of happiness in life. She takes elements from the fantastical world and present them in a surreal light, immersing the wearers of her creations in their very own fairytales, reminding them of childhood delights in the midst of a busy, uncompromising reality.
